Chilean Embassy to Open in Tehran Next Year

TEHRAN Chile's Accredited Ambassador to Tehran, Julio Lagarini Freire, submitted a copy of his credentials to Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi here Monday. The ambassador stressed Santiago's interest in expanding ties with Iran in all possible areas and said his country has planned to open embassy in Tehran next year. Pointing to the visit of the Chilean minister of mining to Iran last year, he noted that Chile is willing to make investments in Iranian oil industry.
Kharrazi referring to the grounds for expansion of ties between the two countries called for further Tehran-Santiago coordination at international forums. He also voiced Iran's readiness to cooperate with Chile on oil and mines. (IRNA)
